Description

This beautifully renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bath Chincoteague cottage is nestled along the salt marshes in a natural setting on Chincoteague Bay. A few of the fine features include a private pier, a new kitchen & appliances, waterside screen porch & deck, and private master bedroom suite with a custom-designed luxurious bath. The numerous windows and over-sized sliding doors allow panoramic water views from nearly any spot in the house. The first floor is completely wheelchair accessible and features your main living areas, large master bedroom suite (K) with bathroom, and second full bathroom with shower/tub. Upstairs features the second and third bedrooms (D/2T). If relaxation is what you're seeking, look no further. This quiet, peaceful location at the water's edge will delight the senses. "Well Kept House in Great Location"

Very nice renovated old house in an excellent location. Very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Utensils, cookware, knives, etc. were very good, which was appreciated. Screened in porch was a nice place to chill. Pier also provided lots of entertainment. The deck is nice, but a table and chairs would increase the usefulness for a small investment. There is no outside space to eat, play cards, board games, etc. Also, some curtains on the big windows would be nice. The sun is brutal at certain times during the day. The large windows provide a nice view of the bay. Lastly, the lighting in the main living area could also be improved. There is only on bright obnoxious light. An end table light and maybe a 3-way bulb in the other would help tremendously in improving the atmosphere. All small investments. The linen package was good for the bed linens and dish towels, For the price, the towels should be of better quality. In general, the house was very clean and in good shape. We had a cable modem go out on us and it was fixed very promptly by the maintenance staff. Overall, we enjoyed it and have no significant complaints. Based on the price and overall amenities, I could not quite give it an excellent rating. Reducing the mosquitoes and increasing the number of fish and crabs in the bay would also help, but that is probably too much too ask.

"Wonderful stay"

We truly enjoyed our stay at Trembling Bay. The house is comfortable et well-equipped. The screened porch is an added bonus to unwind after a day at the beach and watch the beautiful sunsets. A few small things could be fixed to rate the home as "excellent", but overall it's a great place.

"Nice Stay!"

We had a very nice stay at Trembling Bay! The views of the bay were amazing! We had great success crabbing right off the dock! The kitchen was well equipped. The house was overall very clean and this is extremely important to my family due to a health condition. We would definitely consider returning to Trembling Bay in the future. A few things that would make it an even better experience: a table on the deck for eating outside, the porch rocking chairs need replaced, and floor fans need to be clean. The upstairs bedrooms were a bit warm. We brought our own fans and they were definitely used. Overall, we had an amazing time at Trembling Bay.

"Very Good"

We had a wonderful time! Office and maintenance was great. Just to point out a couple of things. Network/wifi provided was incorrect, should be updated for the house. Kitchen could use some pot holders and medium size bowls. The house was perfect and sunsets were awesome! Thanks so much!

The house was so nice and charming; everything we expected and more. The dock along with the sunsets was outstanding. The location was perfect; close to shopping and restaurants. We normally don’t revisit our getaways; but this one we might have to. Loved it!

The house is very nice, however it is hard to enjoy a vacation when the beds are uncomfortable. King bed has no box spring so mattress sags between the bed rails and it only sits about 6 inches off ground. I personally slept on one of the twin beds upstairs. I am almost 6 feet tall and weight almost 300 but it was the only bed with any support. Pictures show house with big sectional sofa house had small uncomfortable sofa and chairs. Updated pictures needed

My family and I enjoyed a week in Trembling Bay. The views from the house (especially the master bedroom) were incredible. I looked forward to my daily walks on the private pier, looking at crabs and even sting rays. The evening sunsets from the pier were jaw droppingly beautiful. The house was clean and well stocked. The only downside was the small bedrooms upstairs that were very warm and the pier could use some maintenance. Fortunately none of that took away from our enjoyment. We had an A++ week.

We enjoyed our second stay at Trembling Bay. The house checks off all of our current Chincoteague stay needs: great location for biking to favorite stops at Pico Taqueria, Island Creamery and the refuge. Lovely sunsets and a private dock. The house is well equipped for our needs - a small family of adults.

Loved the views and location of this house. Private pier a great plus. Only disappointments were fireplace didn't work and was not able to be fixed during our stay. Also the sectional sofa while comfortable to sit on, the reclining mechanisms didn't work and the headrest parts the letter had been worn off.

This was our second stay at Trembling Bay. The house is perfect for a getaway. The screened in porch was a great place to relax and read a book. We loved the views of the bay and having our own dock. The sunsets are amazing! Perfect for two people or to bring the whole family!

This is a really cozy house and very cute. I liked that it is centrally located, yet tucked away from the street. We had a great time staying there and loved looking out and seeing the sunsets and the bay every day. Our stay was without a need for improvements, however: 1) this house need a broom. No broom made it hard to sweep up and keep house clean (had to use the swiffer). 2) Wear and Tear issues- Master bedroom mattress cover and blankets had big rips and window curtains had visible stains. Also echo someone else's comment about some pots and pans needing to be replaced. 3) House cleanliness- disappointed at the condition of the house upon check-in. Someone did a very surface cleaning because they were leaving as we drove up at 4pm and parts of the floor was still wet. There was grease on the kitchen hood, visible sand and dust under the couches, armchairs, the baseboards and fireplace. My kids allergies flared up due to the dust in the home.

There were some issues with the house itself- a hole in the screened in porch that was letting in flies and mosquitoes like crazy, no latch on the master bedroom door that doubles as a door to the bathroom, raised boards and exposed nails on the dock from storm damage. However, when we reported the issues to the rental agency, someone was out to fix it the next day. My only complaint would be that the kitchen was not equipped for cooking. No frying pan, blender didn’t work, not even the toaster worked. We choose to stay in rental homes so that we aren’t forced to eat out every night, but unfortunately we didn’t have much of a choice in this house. The house was clean, and nicely decorated, but I don’t think we’ll stay at Trembling Bay again. We love the island and will keep coming back every summer, and we will keep booking through Chincoteague Resort Vacations.

The house was clean & comfortable, the views beautiful, the pier and dock perfect for water-gazing, cocktails at 6. A few imperfections: no potholders or dishtowels, terribly old and scratched frying pans, no serrated knives. The door to the master bedroom is impossible to lock and we had to use the vacuum cleaner to keep it closed. The bathroom mat could use a good washing or replacement. The Smart TV is not included in the guest WiFi--it should be--as a result we could't use our Chromecast device. We discovered that on our last night so didn't alert the rental agency. But if these problems were addressed I would happily rent this house again. We had a lovely family time there.

Beautiful house, gorgeous views from the dock. My kids loved crabbing and kayaking from it, as well as seeing all the rays. The master bedroom was fantastic, The living room was comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that we needed.There were 2 downsides to this house for us...the dock is shallow, not deep enough for a boat. Also, no door on the Master bathroom, and the door to the suite did not lock well. Other than that, this house is wonderful, coffee on that dock every morning was priceless!

"Relaxing bay front rental home"

My mother in law and I stayed at this house for our vacation in June 2020. Pros: We loved watching the sunset and the lights near the bay at night. The living room and master bedroom had wonderful views of the bay. The kitchen is nice and was well appointed with pots, pans, cups, and utensils. Trembling Bay has it's own pier (not shared) which is a very nice touch. You can fish, hop on a boat, or sit and admire the glistening bay from the pier. Overall, it's a lovely place to stay at for the week.Cons: The washing machine was goofy. You have to do a couple tricks to get it to working correctly. My MIL was able to get it to work after her third attempt. I just avoided it all together. To get to this rental home you have to drive past a row of run down modular rental units. I was relieved to see all the rental units were abandoned. However, if they were occupied, I'm not entirely sure where you would leave the trash bin during trash pickup as the road is very narrow. The pier is getting a little rough because it hasn't been stained or painted. Some boards jet out higher than others while some are bowed which can create a slight tripping hazard.

Had an awesome time at Trembling Bay. House is very quaint, views are incredible! Photo is a sunset from the ramp leading down to the pier. Pier would be wonderful in the summer for fishing and crabbing. Love having the master bed and bath on the 1st floor. Love the fireplace. Lots of extras as well, rental agency provides starter paper towels, dish and dishwasher detergents, washing machine detergent and dryer sheets, and toilet paper. Really enjoyed our relaxing visit and hope to come back soon!!
