"Wonderful Stay"
I really appreciate Coastal Shore Vacations. The office staff are easy to reach with questions, clear about rates + timing of payments, and ready to help. The Shady Side house fit our family really well. It was clean and the kitchen well stocked. The house has a comfortable vibe, with space for our big group of adults + 4 children to relax, sleep, cook meals, and eat all together on the big back porch. The front porch was perfect for any of us who had a moment to sit and take in the breeze. The ceiling fans made it possible to be together without the noise of air conditioners. Down Piney Island road we found a an unexpected secret: a tiny "shell shop" shed for the children to buy nice shells very inexpensively. Thank you to Coastal Shore as well as the owners of this grand house!

We absolutely loved the layout of the house! We really enjoyed the screened in porches to keep mosquitoes away. We were a little surprised to see how little the house is stocked. We had to purchase a batteries for the remotes and additional pots and pans in order to cook dinner. This was the first time staying on this side of the island and it was very peaceful and not near a busy road for the kids. It is also semi-handicap accessible! Other than some updates that need made, we definitely recommend for family of 9!

Beautiful home great location would rent again enjoyed the stay. Only thing is constant time messages and being told multiple times about cleaning up the house or my card would be charged. For the price of the house can provide certain amenities paper towels hand soap dish liquid. And house keeping should clean more throughly renters are not free housekeeper. . other than that the house was great and I would stay again.. just be kinder to renters

Wonderful week on the Island. My family either biked all over the island and to the beach or relaxed on the screened porches. Plenty of room to play games or put together a puzzle. Very quick to get groceries or take a trip to the creamery. The best part was access to a wonderful beach every day whether walking, riding or driving. Very peaceful family vacation, loved every minute.

Could not have been better. This location is as close to the bridge as you can get. Walk to the trolley stop at the museum. Bicycle over to Assateague. Carry kayaks to the secluded launch. Walk or bicycle to the shops. We love this charming house- it has everything that’s needed- lots of room.

Positives:2 bathrms/ 4 bedrms - large great rm areas-furniture comfy-large table for meals. Good for big group. Beds comfortable. Peaceful location. View of lighthouse nice.Negatives: Front picture window broken/black tape across remaining glass-the screen, in both the porches needs repairs-washer& dryer smell very musty.3 main reasons we choose this rental.Size of home, 2 screened porches, washer/dryer.*Size of home-great*Porches-unusable due to mosquitos coming thru open screen spots.*Ran short of clean clothes since washer/dryer smelled musty.>First impression-broken front window/tape was across window in a large X-looked less than welcoming.*Be careful walking in-front steps are loose in places.As we left to check out, porch door would not close.The broken door, screen holes, and the musty washer/dryer were reported to the realty personnel as we turned in the keys. We assumed they knew about the front window being broken & taped, as well as the steps, as each renter pays for a cleaning person to come in. With some attention to repairs, this home could be the perfect vacation spot.

We loved this vacation rental! It was so close to the beach and restaurants. The kids having their own space upstairs was great as there are 2 full baths! Can not wait to come again!!

Shady Side is located in Piney Island, which is among the closest communities to the beach. There is community water access, suitable for a kayak or canoe. The house features two queen bedrooms and a full bath downstairs. Upstairs you'll find two additional bedrooms, one has two twins and the other has a queen bed. There is also a full bath on the second floor. The loft features a futon with a full mattress. The large back porch is equipped with a gas grill and picnic table for your cookouts and crab feasts!
