The best feature of this home is the location and views. Appreciated the recent renovation of the bath and kitchen. However, during our stay there was an obvious ant problem in the kitchen, which the vacation rental company visibly attempted to remedy with traps. It proved to be a slight problem as the kitchen is quite small with limited storage, necessitating the need to store some food items on the countertop, which would of course result in more ants. Also, one of the amenities listed was an outdoor shower, but it was not connected and inoperable. Some areas of the home were also not as clean as they could be, such as multiple dead insects in window cases/sills, cobwebs, and mildew in the shower.

This was our first time at Conch Shell and we had a wonderful stay. The wildlife viewing, especially bird watching, was the best ever. We were able to observe Egrets, Herons, Ducks and Ibis among others all from the comfort of the home. This home is perfectly located as it is just a short bicycle ride to the refuge. Looking forward to another visit here.

We brought our own linens, towels, TP and paper towels. It would have been helpful to know we should have brought dish soap, dishwasher soap, salt/pepper, light bulbs and a scrubbie for the stove top & washing dishes. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, utensils and cookware. We like to sleep in dark rooms with maximum privacy therefore the sheers on bedroom windows were not adequate. We didn't use oven or dishwasher. The BEST part of Conch Shell is the location, location, location. Loved the living room windows and wrap around deck. House has really nice flow, beds comfortable and did we mention the view. Lighthouse visible even in the rain. Herons, Egrets, Sika Elk, deer, boats, kayaks all visible from inside and out. Quiet but close to activities on Chincoteague Island which can't be beat. Love it here.

We have stayed at this cottage before and it is our little piece of paradise. The views are awesome; love having the lighthouse beams come through the house! Close to Assateague Beach, you can ride your bikes over! If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet cottage with a deck three sides around and water views, Conch Shell isdefinitely one to try!

The house is located on Pine Drive in Piney Island - the closest neighborhood to the beach - convenient for shopping and dining on Maddox Blvd. This wonderful waterfront beach bungalow features a wrap around deck with views of Assateague and the light house. You can bring your boat, jet skis or kayaks and keep them tied up out front. There is a spacious living room for entertaining and a nicely remodeled kitchen! Your rental also includes water access (a short walk from the home) to a tidal creek that comes up from Oyster Bay - it's a great place for the kids to crab or to launch a kayak or canoe.
