The location could not have been any better. It was perfect for the Pony Swim, but would be perfect for any get a way - so relaxing. The porch, the dock, the view, and the household furniture/beds, etc... met our families needs perfectly. We would like to come back!

This house has everything you could need for a perfect beach vacation. Great location, excellent amenities. We had a great time and the dog loved it too.

We loved our stay at "Almost Heaven." Here are a few modest suggestions that would really enhance the experience. First, consider a suction-type safety bar in the second floor bathroom. The fiberglass bottom gets pretty slick for us seniors. Same with the throw rugs in the front and side doors that may contribute to the decor but not so much to the safety of the entrance. Again "Almost Heaven" was all that and more. Sitting on the couch in the living rooom and simply watching the sunset was a daily treat. We would recommend. Cheers,

LOCTION AND HOUSE WERE PERFECT. ENJOYED LOOKING AT ALL THE GREAT PHOTOS AND ARTWORK INSIDE AS WELL AS THE BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS. VERY NICE FLOWERS ALTHOUGH THE GRASS NEEDED TO BE CUT AT THE HOUSE AND AT THE DOCK. WE ALREADY PLAN ON STAYING HERE AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

As with earlier rentals of this property (“Allmost Heaven”) over the years, this visit was peaceful and rest-filled. Sunsets from the porch were as magical as ever. And the comfortable (and neat) facilities were appreciated.

We have been renting Almost Heaven for our family vacation for years. It is the perfect location, reasonably priced and the sunsets are amazing. We love the dock to fish and relax.

We have rented this house for years and have always been happy there. The Island has always been our peaceful place. Need to get the ants out of kitchen though.

We have booked for the past two years and will book again! The only draw pantry to store dry goods and lots of knick knacks/books lying around. Kudos to the housekeeper! Thanks for the new bed in the master bedroom! Whoever stays after us gets a dog bed, we left ours behind!

Upon arrival the water was beautiful. The shops on Main Street reminded me of being in a downtown setting. Approaching Almost Heaven (the house) was gorgeous. The inside of the home was just as beautiful as the view of the water from the front door. The queen bed on the first floor was so comfortable it was hard getting out of bed. There were a lot of just a few more minutes. The location of the house was perfect everything we needed was just a few minutes away by car. So many great memories and I will definitely be back.

This is the 4th time I've rented Almost Heaven and it's still my favorite vacation destination. On the water, pet friendly, clean, and in a great location, this house has become a place where I can relax and enjoy nature. I spent most of my week on a bicycle and in a kayak. I highly recommend Almost Heaven and Chincoteague.

The rental was older and that would have been okay but the master bedroom had a strong urine smell maybe from pets before us? It was worse on the days it rained. The whole house had a musty odor. The master sink has no water pressure beware. And the rental housekeeping didn't clean one room upstairs at all and the former renters left fingernail cuttings all over the rug. The queen bed frame broke and had to be fixed and you could see where it had been repaired before. The dock is a great plus as is the view from the house.

Did not realize from the photo that young children would have to cross a major road to get to the water/pier and would not rent it again. Perhaps my fault at not reading the description carefully enough. Perfectly ok for older children or adults.

Almost Heaven is the perfect name for this house! It was so charming & cozy inside. An older home which has been updated inside made for a super comfy feel.The house smelled great & was very clean upon entry. Absolutely loved all the artwork & photos in the house. The home was well stocked too, from beach chairs to spices, which is a huge plus when renting a home.Perfect amount of yard outside & the front porch was perfect for early morning coffee & watching the incredible sunsets.The only thing that could be better was the downstairs queen bed. The bed was pretty rough.New bedframe & mattress would make it absolutely perfect. My mom stayed in the the second floor queen bed & thought it was super comfy.Overall, this is a great house. Close to everything & the views are phenomenal!We even got to witness the NASA launch of a rocket front our front yard! We will definitely be staying here again!Thanks

I would recommend the property based on everything but the mattresses. In particular the queen-size in the master BR was not supportive at all — my husband and I had to sleep in different rooms due to this issue. The upstairs beds were way too hard. So if it’s for a person that these don’t matter, then I would recommend. We contacted the office and the owner was going to put a board under the queen mattress, which apparently wasn’t done.

Wonderful house with a very handy dock for fishing! Had great weather, warmer than usual for October, and enjoyed the very clean, well-stocked home. Only thing that kept us from giving it 5 stars is the bedding queen mattress very unsupportive, and upstairs beds were too hard. We would love to stay here again, especially if the main BR mattress is updated. Perfect location!

Our first time renting a house on the island. Usually we rent a cottage at inlet view but this year we wanted to have our dog with us. Booking the house and any questions i had were answered swiftly via email. Check in/out was so easy and i appreciated that due to having our dog. The house was clean and had a fully stocked kitchen of pots/pans/utensils/plate settings/mixing bowls, coffee pot, toaster oven, etc. We only utilized the downstairs but the house is very spacious for a group of people. We enjoyed the dock and front porch sitting area. Some areas of the house has an older feel but its really homey. I didnt search through closets until a few days in when i was looking for a broom or vacuum and i found a supply of beach chairs and umbrellas with a note saying it was okay to use. I felt that was really generous! It is on a main road so those with kids or animals should be weary of that. We felt really comfortable here and will try to rent again for the future.

This is our fourth visit to Chincoteague Island and have prolonged our stay the last two years to two weeks (which is still not enough) It is a wonderful Island, very relaxing. We always rent Almost Heaven. From the first time we rented it, it just had a warm, cozy feel of times gone by. Our son and his family have rented the same house and felt the same. Thank the owners for sharing. This house is one of the reasons we return each year. Also, we thank all of you for being so helpful. Especially this year when we had to evacuate in Sept, very kind to offer us our days in October. Very much appreciated.

Cute, quiet, cozy house with a great view, close to everything. Great for the family. The only negative thing that I would have to say is the main matress was worn out and not too comfy. Everything else was great. Kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, coffee, tea, sugar, etc so it was great for a forgetful person like me. We went on a super cold weekend and the home heated up very quickly.

House is very nice. Perfect for a small family. The porch is mice for sitting and morning coffee.

Lovely little house - very comfortable. We felt right at home. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch and watching the water. The kitchen was a great size for us with plenty of counter space. We also very much liked that we had access to the dock for crabbing and fishing.

We have been to Chincoteague Island many times and have always stayed at various Chincoteague Resort vacation homes. Our favorite place was sold and we needed to find a new place. Almost Heaven was the one that was available, accepted dogs and was waterfront, so it matched our needs. We were afraid we wouldn't like it nearly as much as our former rental on Piney Island, but we loved it! The house was spotless (save for a few previous dog hairs which delighted our two corgis) and perfect for our family of five (well, 7 if you count the two corgis.) My husband loves to fish, so he was out of the dock early in the morning seeing what he could catch (not sure what he caught, but he definitely caught some fish.) The area is very nice - I enjoyed exploring all the little roads off Main Street with the dogs and chatting with the neighbors, both vacationers and residents. My mother-in-law enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the world pass by. The two teenagers enjoyed the wifi (as well as fishing with dad, talking walks with the corgis and mom and chatting with their grandma.) All in all, a perfect vacation!One other thing that has nothing to do with the house, but with the management company. This is our 7th summer renting a place through Chincoteague Resort Realty. Every summer the process is absolutely smooth with friendly people on the phone and in person. This summer was the first time I needed to call regarding a problem in the house (the AC quit in the bedroom where my hubby and I stayed.) I am a woman of a certain age and AC is vital to my well-being. They sent somebody out within 1.5 hours with a new AC unit. I was thoroughly impressed. Good job, Chincoteague Resort!! Can't wait to come back :-)
