Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge

This refuge is famous for its natural wildlife.  In addition to its legendary wild horses, come take a hike and view deer, sika elk, piping plover, and a variety of local birds.

Hours
The refuge is open 7 days a week from

5:00 A.M. - 10:00 P.M. from May through September.
6:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. the months of April and October.
6:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. from November through March.

The Visitor Center is open 7 days a week from

9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. in the Summer
9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. in the Spring, Fall & Winter
*Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day
