Join the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center to view the eclipse safely with special eclipse glasses. Though not on the path of totality, observers on the Eastern Shore will see 81.5 % partial eclipse. The maximum eclipse will occur when the moon covers part of the sun’s disk from this location at approximately 2:46 p.m. As an official NASA viewing location, Wallops Visitor Center will participate in the Eclipse megacast that will provide unique broadcast coverage. This live stream will ensure event participants a view of the Total Solar Eclipse in the instance that clouds block the solar viewing on the Eastern Shore. The event will also feature solar-themed movies, activities and crafts. In addition to the main event at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center, there will also be resources at two additional satellite locations on Assateague Island National Seashore. At these satellite locations, Toms Cove Visitor Center VA and Assateague Visitor Center MD, limited quantities of eclipse glasses and resources will be available for those who do not want to leave the beach.
